These one-of-a-kind nesting bowls were thrown on a wheel and then altered and carved by hand. The design incorporates underglaze stamping, texture stamping with river rocks, portions of unglazed clay, and layers of green and blue glazes.
The bowl was made as part of an artist residency in Whitehorse at Jenni House. During the residency I spent a lot of time looking at the Yukon River - how it moves and changes by the second. I was inspired to layer images, carvings and glazes to create a sense of depth and transformation.
Irregular shape.
Size: roughly 10-inches long x 6-inches wide x 4-inches high
